Therapies A-Z

Re birthing

Re-birthing has it’s roots in Krya yoga and believes that many adult issues have their source in the birth experience. The process of re-birthing aims to achieve resolution to psychological distress through a mixture of meditative techniques and circular breathing. Re-birthing enables individuals to experience a catharsis which clears emotional and psychological symptomology. The catharsis enables the individual to start again with new levels of emotional energy and reduced psychological encumbrance.

Regression therapy

Regression therapy is a psychotherapeutic technique used primarily by psychotherapists and hypnotherapists. The aim of the therapy is to resolve present problems that have their roots in the earlier years of life. When a childhood trauma is experienced with all the resources available to you as an adult, then healing in the present can be achieved. Regression therapy can be useful in cases where the adult is ‘stuck’ in patterns of behaviour that belong to the past or where issues from the past are contaminating the adults ability to function healthily in the present.

After a treatment clients often report feeling more stimulated, feelings of well being as well as relief from pain, tension and stress. Reflexology has its roots in acupuncture and physiotherapy and it is an example of holistic healing which has applications to the entire body as well as specific conditions.

Developed in the 1800’s, Swedish Body Massage has long been thought of as the first systematic method of massage in the western world. Movements for Swedish massage were originally used for medical purposes and were adapted for the individual depending on the clients need. Movements vary from deep pressure to light soothing stokes. The massage begins with the back of the legs before moving to the back, shoulders and neck and is aimed at stimulating healthy blood flow in the body. The client will then turn over and the massage will proceed over the front of the legs, the arms and hands and often finished with a light facial. The client often reports feeling light and refreshed and stimulated with a feeling of relaxation and well being throughout the body.
